Zarina Hashmi became famous all over the world for her beautiful woodcuts and intaglio prints

which cleverly mixed semi-abstract images of homes and cityscapes from her own life.

Her art fits with the principles of the Minimalism Art movement.

Zarina Hashmi was an important Indian-American artist who would have turned 86 today. 

 Today, Google Doodle celebrates her birthday.
